Dear Friend,
Hopefully you are finding ways to stay warm while enjoying this crisp, Autumn air! A hot cup of tea? A favorite pair of mittens or a winter hat or scarf? I have been gifted several hand-knitted scarves over the years. My favorite one, too precious to me to use, is a happy red color and I am grateful for the hands that made it and for every single stitch!
Did you get to see the full moon on Friday night? Maybe the sky was too cloudy where you were? Frank and I were able to behold the bright beams of the Super Moon pouring down over the snow-capped Sierras. To me, there’s nothing quite like a partly cloudy sky on a full moon night especially when the only light is coming from above the Earth. Resting above the snowy peaks, the clouds seem to hold on to the last bit of sunset pinks and snuggle in around the happy, shining moon, and with all those lucky stars sparkling away - it all seems so grand!
Winter is on its way and we are warm enough, (thanking our lucky stars and the fact that our trailer’s propane heater is very efficient). But since it’s cold outside and natural condensation can build up inside our well-insulated trailer, we have to be mindful of balancing temperature, fresh air and humidity or there will be mold. Do you have a favorite remedy for too much humidity? (Not humility, though if you’d like to share about having too much of that, please do)!
Well, this is also a funny one… My laptop has been through a lot. Over the past couple of years, winds and breezes have blown dust and dirt at the poor little thing and even though I have cleaned the keypad thoroughly, there are several letters that repeat themselves when pushed. Both the upper and lower cases of the N, T, S, L, and Rs all seem to sputter out several characters at a time. Since I want to be sure that my laptop says what it means, I have to really pay atttttennnnntttttionnnnnn to what I’m typing - that can’t be a bad thing.
These days, we’ve been thinking of the people we’ve met out on the road. We’ve kept in touch with a some of them and I do send my blog/letter to many of them and only a handful have replied with ‘no thanks,’ which, as we have indicated in our email, we understand!
Everyone seems busy (including us and probably you, too).
But if you find yourself with five extra minutes here and there, please check out any of the fifty-three Tracks by the Post 2023. It was in February of this year that I changed my website platform and so the blog/letters from last year were ‘new’ to the new site. (If you revisit those old posts, you’ll find that the photos load faster than they did the first time. Yay)!
Well, please write if you’d like to share what’s happening in your world these days, we’re looking forward to hearing from you!
With gratitude that you are there, and for your caring thoughts and prayers in our direction. Please know that we keep you in our daily Thanksgivings, as well.
Wishing you a lovely week ahead!
Gently Be,
Leslie and Frank
